Abraham destroys Demers! + Tokarev, Povetkin

IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (23-0, 18 KOs) is back. "King Arthur" showed no effects from the broken jaw suffered in his previous fight as he knocked out previously unbeaten Sebastien Demers (20-1, 9 KOs) in round three on Saturday night at the JAKO Arena in Bamberg, Germany. In a bout that started after midnight due to network coverage of a major soccer match, Abraham went right to work beating Demers to the punch with good combinations to the head and body. Huck-Tokarev moved to May 26!

Marco Huck´s IBF cruiserweight eliminator against Vadim Tokarev has been moved back to May 26 after the 22-year-old was flattened by a stomach flu. Captain Huck (18-0, 14 KOs) was originally scheduled to take on the unbeaten Russian on May 5 in his hometown of Bielefeld.

Tokarev is preparing to explode once again!

The sensational unbeaten Russian cruiserweight Vadim Tokarev (23-0-1, 16 KOs) is on the short way for his first world title attempt. According to the official site of RPBF (Russian Professional Boxing Federation), his Russian co-promoter Rinat Yusupov warranted that Tokarev, 34, who is ranked fourth by the WBC and IBF, fifth by the WBA and eight by the WBO, will fight in WBC and/or IBF eliminator against the opponent to be announced in late March or early April. No venue and exact date were named though. Two-time world title challenger Vincenzo Cantatore (WBO #4, IBF #8, WBC #9, and WBA #13), 32-4-1, 27 KOs, is considered as one the most possible challengers for the current NABF champion.

Russians in IBF eliminators!

Vadim Tokarev (22-0-1, 15 KOs) of Kazan’, Russia, seems to be closer than ever to so desirable fight for one of major titles in cruiserweight division. Current NABF titleholder is said to be taking part in IBF eliminator on November, the 18th, in Warszawa, Poland, on the undercard of scheduled fight for a vacant IBF cruiserweight belt between #1 contender Steve Cunningham of USA and Poland native Krzystof  Wlodarczik, ranked #4 by IBF. Tokarev’s opponent is still to be named, though David Haye and Jean-Marc Mormeck are among possibilities, despite an official announcement yet to be released.

 

Russian 115 lbs contender Dmitry Kirillov (28-3, 9 KOs) is still seeking an opponent for his future IBF eliminator, scheduled to take place this autumn. Dmitry was controversially defeated by current Nicaraguan titleholder Luis Perez this May and demanded immediate return bout without any success.
