Considering his little experience in pro boxing and some flaws, still occurring in his performances, former kickboxing world champion Ayup Arsaev (5-0, 2 KOs) wasn’t a favorite against tough Filipino export Pederito Laurente (18-11-1, 8 KOs). He, however, proved the doubters wrong, stopping his foe in four brutal rounds and capturing the interim version of the WBC Asian Boxing Council featherweight title. Arsaev – Laurente slugfest crowned another huge show, staged in Krilya Sovetov sports arena, Moscow, by the Imperia promotional company and Nikolay Grammatikov.

WBO Latino cruiserweight champion Ali Ismailov, 33, was back inside the ring last Thursday in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Former middleweight fringe contender Aslanbek Kodzoev, 26, will resume his professional career on May, 19, in Moscow, Russia. The opponent for tough-as-nails Kodzoev (17-2-1, 12 KOs) is still to be determined.

In the main event of the evening up and coming junior welterweight prospect Sergey Sorokin, 28, scored his biggest win in career via twelve-round controversial decision over Argentinean guest Victor Hugo Castro, 31, for the WBO Asian Pacific belt.

6 titles at stake in Ekaterinburg tomorrow!
