According to Ukrainian sources close to National Box Promotions, their fighter Alexei Mazikin (10-1, 2 KOs), 32, will not fight Paolo Ferrara on June, 9, in Kiev. The Ukrainian fighter will fight one week later on June 16 in Istanbul, Turkey, and his opponent will be none other than sensational Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis, who made his pro debut a blistering one with an impressive first-round kayo over experienced German Andreas Sidon. Solis is a three-time amateur world champion (2001, 2003, and 2005) in two weight divisions and Athens 2004 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist. NBP director Alexander Krasyuk was quoted saying that omitting a major farce the fight is done and all the agreements with Arena Box Promotions are signed.
