Timur Shailezov, originally form Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, now fighting in Russia, scored the biggest win of his 4-month career as a pro when he defeated always-tough Russian journeyman Pavel ‘Macho’ Kubasov over 10 hard rounds in order to capture the vacant Russian bantamweight title this Thursday, 21st, in casino Vodoley, Ekaterinburg, Russia. Light-hitting but aggressive Shailezov was in control of the fight from the start up to the end, however Kubasov showed once again that he is a good opposition for everyone. Shailezov is 5-0 without any KOs now, while Kubasov falls down to horrible 4-27, 1 KO.
Another Kyrgyzstan fighter Jahongir Abdullaev (12-0, 4 KOs) continued his winning streak with an easy UD 8 victory over much weaker Ukrainian Nikita Lukin (5-6-1, 1 KO). Abdullaev, nicknamed Pantera, was a headliner of a show, arranged in Moscow, Russia, by Maha Shermat last Sunday, 16th. Pantera is a hot prospect in 130 lbs with a chance to follow his famous compatriot Orzubek Nazarov, who was one of the most feared lightweights in 90’s.
Supporting the show Mohammed Fraidun, 19, from Kabul, Afghanistan, now fighting for Moscow, Russia, showed once again why he is treated as a possible star in junior featherweight division. Fraidun (5-0, 3 KOs) was extremely rough in TKO 3 win over Karen Varosyan (1-1, 0 KOs). Also promising Georgian heavyweight Rudolf Abramyan (4-0, 4 KOs) extended his KO streak to 4 nods after first-round demolition of Ramil Valeev who has made his pro debut, though extremely unsuccessfully.
