Unbeaten middleweight sensation Dmitry Pirog (7-0, 6 KOs), 26, will headline a huge local show, arranged by the Baltic Box Promotion tomorrow in Kaliningrad, Russia. Pirog will face his toughest foreign import to date in face of the Argentinean journeyman Juan Manuel Alaggio (16-4-1, 6 KOs), 25, over ten rounds. Pirog, the native of the southern city of Krasnodar, is the reigning Russian 160 lbs champion. The only man to last a distance with him was world-known super middleweight contender Sergey Tatevosyan, who had lost a wide decision last April.
Supporting the show will be: tough young heavyweight gun Andrey Fedosov, rugged welterweight veteran Maxim Nesterenko, and two German cruiserweight prospects Alexander Frenkel and Karo Murat. There will be a few more bouts (with the total number of ten) on the card as well.
