Mike Tyson isn't the only person to send Team Ibragimov his compliments. "Oscar De La Hoya phoned us a moment ago to congratulate Sultan and his Russian promoter Ramazan Abacharaev (Golden Grain president) on arranging the most significant heavyweight match-up in years," Ibragimov's manager Boris Grinberg told yours truly. "I wish Sultan and his men only the best in future," said the Golden Boy to Ibragimov's representatives, "Mr. Abacharaev and his American counterparts Leon Margules and Sampson Lewkowicz have done a fine job on making the fight with Ruslan Chagaev real. I intend to visit Moscow on October 13 to watch this collision of undefeated heavyweights myself."
"Oscar has confirmed that he will attend the Ibragimov-Chagaev showdown," stated Grinberg, "He is an icon for Russian fight fans and he has a huge army of supporters in our country. His arrival will be a great gift for them." Sultan Ibragimov (21-0-1, 18 KOs) and Ruslan Chagaev (23-0-1, 17 KOs) will clash in Moscow on October, 13. This bout is presented by NAFTA Moskva and promoted by Seminole Warriors Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions, Golden Grain Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz in association with Universum Box-Promotion.
