Two minor IBF titles were at stake this Saturday at Olympiskiy Stadium in Cheboksary, Russia. A huge show, featuring a number of top post-Soviet prospects in different weight classes, was arranged by RS Sport Promotion.
In the main event up and coming Russian heavyweight Alexey Soloviev (12-0, 7 KOs) was back to the ring for the first time since his American debut against Leon Warner this April. Solovyev made target practice of durable but limited Kazakh Tolgat Dosanov (10-3-1, 4 KOs), finally stopping him in round 11. With the win Solovyev captured IBF international heavyweight title.
In co-feature Belarussian Andrey Isaev (14-1, 4 KOs) made a short work of usually durable Tanzanian Francis Miyeyusho (18-4-2, 7 KOs) to capture the IBF intercontinental featherweight title. Miyeyusho was down in the first round but stood up only to survive to the bell barely. The fight was, however, finished in the second, when Isaev brutally floored Tanzanian for the full count. Isaev, 27, proved he is worth ranking in top-15 if not top-10. His only loss was a gutsy effort against British prospect Kevin Mitchell, when Isaev was stopped on cuts in pick-em fight.
