WBO Latino champion Ali Ismailov, 33, wanted to test his abilities in a real fight, and his desire will be fully satisfied on June 21 in St. Petersburg, Russia, with the help of Alexander Yagupov’s «Colosseum Box Promotions». Former amateur star Ismailov (8-1-1, 7 KOs) will face his toughest opponent to date in Belgian cruiserweight Ismail Abdoul (28-12-2, 10 KOs).
Ismailov’s last meaningful fight in February resulted in the second round kayo over experienced Brazilian Luciano Torres. Abdoul on the other hand is trying to fight back after two consecutive losses to Marko Huck and Gyorgy Hidvegi this year. A good share of local prospects will fill the undercard of the show.
