A huge show, featuring several world-rated boxers, was staged by Russian promoter German Titov in Almaty, Kazakhstan, this Saturday. In the main event of the show local favorite Marat Mazimbaev (19-4-1, 14 KOs) scored the ninth-round KO over Tanzanian Anthony Mathias (15-7-1, 6 KOs) to capture the interim version of PABA super flyweight title and the vacant GBU belt as well. Former WBC international titlist Dennis Bakhtov (24-4, 15 KOs) stopped previously unbeaten Awadh Tamimu (9-1, 4 KOs) of Tanzania by TKO 3 in order to earn the interim version of the PABA heavyweight title and the vacant WBO Asian Pacific belt as well. The third Tanzanian to lose on Saturday was featherweight Maurice Chule (6-5-2, 3 KOs), who dropped an eight-round unanimous decision to light-hitting Russian Vyacheslav Gusev (11-1, 1 KO). Chule was down in the first round.
