Warm greetings for all of you, Dear Friends!

Fightnews.ru squad is extremely happy to welcome You on its pages, specially designed for Your joy and informational demands for Eastern Europe professional boxing. We hope, Your stay here will be useful for You and us as well, giving both parties lots of knowledge to think about, lots of info to discuss with each other and bright emotions to share them with new friends.

Who are 'we'?

We are a determined group of hardcore post-Soviet (yeah, we aren't all Russians as there are Armenians, Ukrainians, Kazakhs and so on here) boxing fans, pugilistic reporters and officials, who are trying to upgrade the Sweet Science in this country (and that's not only Russia that we mean) from its current semi-marginal condition into the prosperous state and establish pro boxing as one of the elite sports. Along with this hard task our team will try to accomplish a far more difficult work of promoting post-Soviet pro boxing and its representatives abroad.

We aren't anonymous. This part of our portal is edited and revised by its main contributor - Fightnews.com representative and one of the leading Russian WWW-reporters Alexey Sukachev aka Ghost_Stalker. Alexey lives in Moscow, makes his post-graduate study at Moscow State University and covers pro boxing in Russia and in post-Soviet republics. He had also been working long for the “Soviet Sport”, top Russian sport-related newspaper. Kirill Alexandrov aka Editor is an owner and a chief editor of the whole portal, both its Russian and English sides. There wouldn't have been any Fightnews.ru if he had been fond of something else. Anton Gorunov aka Prorock is our chief Ukrainian agent. He is a respected boxing journalist, working for 'The Ring' (well, let's be modest: for its Ukrainian analogue) magazine - the biggest and the best in post-Soviet area. We can't avoid AWH in our list of contributors. He is making this portal live, when nobody else is able to do this. Newsmaker, VOLOT and all are respected users, which impact on its current state can hardly be ignored. And that's not all: each our registered user is a potential contributor, since we allow everybody to post everything. Of course we can edit it or even erase it afterwards.

What's the point?

There's no secret that boxers from the former Soviet republics can fight for real. And their overall impact is increasing year by year and from one bout to another. That's the reason why foreign fans want to know more about it. And we shall try to satisfy their demands and to live up to their hopes.

The main goal of the project is to promote post-Soviet boxing abroad. The only way to do this is to let our foreign colleagues (and we are all colleagues in terms of the mutual love with the Sweet Science) know more about the present state of the game here. The focus is set primarily on the home activities and fighters/trainers/promoters/officials, strongly connected with them. That doesn't mean, however, that we shall pay no attention to our fighters, living and fighting outside of our countries. Klitschko brothers, Sultan Ibragimov, Oleg Maskaev, Roman Karmazin, Vic Darchinyan and so on are also welcome here. Our interests are widespread for Your interest.

Fightnews.ru is the news portal. And it's dedicated primarily to the fresh info. But there will be reviews, interviews, columns and comments as we don't like to tell You something but to explain it You and to comment it also. On the other hand, You are free to comment any news and any columns You want. There's a forum, where You can leave your thoughts and deeper analyses. By the way it's only the part of our huge forum, but the other threads are in Russian.

Fightnews.ru and Fightnews.com - what are the differences?

Basically Fightnews.ru is neither Fightnews.com inner division nor its Russian mirror. The Russian part of our site is strictly independent on any foreign portals; however, it does use their info, giving some edge to Fightnews.com as we consider it the best overall boxing portal over the Web. It’s the main reason why we did our best to establish the strong and friendly partnership with our American colleagues. As the central point of this partnership we have created and developed a unique project – an English division of our portal, which indeed is the affiliation of the common Fightnews.com.

So that the English division can be recognized as an integral part of both Fightnews.ru and Fightnews.com. Some of the articles in our news tap, related to the post-Soviet pugilists and their achievements, has been published earlier on Fightnews.com (we use Fightnews.com as the one and only foreign source of info for the English version of our portal). On the other hand, all of our original materials can be used for free to fill the common Fightnews.com with the necessary info about the present state of boxing in Russia.

Miscellaneous info

  • Feel free to express Your opinion the way You want. There are several opportunities to do so:
  1. You can comment any material on our site. Just press the ‘Comment’ link under the article You want to discuss. We shall appreciate any useful info, thoughts, opinions and emotions, until they don’t break the Rules of the site and/or forum.
  2. Forum discussions aren’t only allowed but hotly welcome.
  3. We have a related boxing forum, which is our affiliation. It’s mostly in Russian but English-speaking fans can create their topics in mix.
  • There are some Rules to obey:
    1. Rude expressions, harsh statements, racial and sexual harassment and trash talks aren’t allowed. Be polite and show Your respect to the users and moderators, as well as to the laws of society.
    2. Flood isn’t allowed. All articles on the site and threads on the forum are dedicated to the definite topics. Be patient to follow it and not to speak about Klitschko brothers in ‘Ivan Calderon vs. Hugo Cazares’.
    3. Moderators are the gods. No, the Gods. They are allowed to do everything with Your account, postings and profile. Don’t bother them but feel free to address them Your questions.
    • If you meet some problems with our portal or if you have some questions about it, ask Editor or Ghost_Stalker via PM or write them to salex-821@yandex.ru .

    Some apologizes

We are at the very beginning of a long-long way. Mistakes aren’t beloved but hardly avoidable. Our English surely isn’t perfect; there can be moments of mutual misunderstanding. We are sorry for all the possible problems and surely shall do our best to resolve them in most convenient way.

P.S. We shall appreciate any advices and any help You can offer us!
