According to Russian promoter Nikolay Grammatikov, Sergey Dzindziruk of Ukraine, who is currently the WBO junior middleweight world champion, will defend his title for the second time versus Russian Alisultan Nadirbegov on October, 21st, at Brandberge Arena, Halle, Germany. Grammatikov, who has promoted the last bout of Nadirbegov, confirmed that the collision is already set. If occurs, it will be the first ever title clash between the Russian and Ukrainian fighters.
Dzindziruk, 30, a pro for seven years and a half, captured the WBO 154 lbs belt via hard-fought unanimous decision over former two-time world champion Daniel Santos of Puerto-Rico ten months ago. He has defended his title for the only time against Sebastian Andres Lujan of Argentina (UD 12) this May in Germany. Dzindziruk’s record is the perfect one: 32-0, with 21 KOs.
Nadirbegov, 28, hailing from Rikvani, Daghestan, Russia, made his debut as a pro only three years ago. He has scored his biggest victory in whole career this May by knocking out former contender Kuvanych Toygonbayev of Uzbekistan in the 11th round of their slugfest. Far behind on points, heavily bleeding and lacking the KO power, Nadirbegov showed real guts, stopping his honored foe in almost winless situation and capturing the WBO Asia Pacific junior middleweight belt. He is currently ranked 10th by WBO and possesses less-than-stellar record of 15-1 with 6 KOs.
