На этом видео легендарный пуэрториканский боксер (53-8-1, 31 KO's), который страдает посттравматическим энцефалитом, в 1994 году сделавший великого бойца постоянно улыбающимся и удивляющимся всему вокруг "ребенком".
Вильфред Бенитес завоевал свой первый чемпионский титул в 1976 году в возрасте 17 лет и стал самым молодым чемпионом в истории бокса. Этот рекорд так и не был побит. За свою карьеру Бенитес становился чемпионом в трех весовых категориях, встречался с такими великими боксерами, как Шугар Рэй Леонард, Томас Хирнс и Роберто Дюран.
В 1989 году ему поставили диагноз "постравматический энфефалит", вызванный постоянными травмами головного мозга. Его состояние быстро ухудшалось, а в 1994 году он чуть не умер, когда упал на пол у себя дома и не впал в кому.
Сейчас Вильфред живет со своей сестрой Ивон Бенитес и ее мужем.
