За время существования профессионального бокса от полученных в официальных боях травм и увечий погибли несколько сотен боксёров. Практически все они стали жертвами ринга из-за того, что придерживались кодекса бойца и проявляли мужество, стойкость и терпение, принимая на себя град тяжёлых ударов соперников и до последнего не желая сдаваться. За что в итоге и поплатились собственной жизнью.
